Tisha Welday2 StarI had David Wear come out to do some flooring work in my home. He installed some travertine tile around our fireplace and completed some laminate flooring installation and associated trim work. I was working on the day he was here, and he called me when he was almost finished and I ran home to pay him cash. He wasn't quite done, so I didn't get to see the finished product before I went back to work. When I came home at the end of the day, there were a few things I wasn't happy with. A piece of door trim was only nailed twice: top and bottom. It couldn't be nailed in the middle because it was sitting on top of the door latch hardware and sticking about an inch away from the wall. This made the door inoperable. Another trim piece had needed to be cut down due to the height of the new flooring. Instead of doing so he jammed it in at an angle and didn't put a single nail in. One side of the trim was about 3 inches away from the wall. The tile was not grouted correctly, and needed to be re-grouted to fill in the spaces between the tiles. And a transtion piece between the tile and laminate floor was cut too short and left a sizable gap. If it had been one simple thing, I would have dealt with it. However, as a small business owner myself, I appreciate feedback and want to know when my client's are not satisified. So I sent him an email with a few pictures of the issues and asked for his thoughts. He offered to come out and fix the problems. He called me on a Thursday evening and left a voicemail indicating that he could come out the next day. I called him back and left my husband's cell number since he would be home all day to meet David and let him in the house. David never called either number. I called him on the following Monday and several more times that week. I also emailed him. I started to block my number to see if he would answer, and finally got him to pick up the phone. We then set an appointment for 8:30 am on a Thursday. I indicated that I had to work that day, which is why we agreed on the early time. I waited until 8:45 and called him. No answer. Finally left for work at 9:15 (late) and called him two more times that day. It has been over a week and still no call from him. I am going to have to complete the work myself, or pay someone else to do that work that I already paid him for. Please be aware that he does not do quality work, and is not willing to fix any errors that may occur. He took our money and now won't take our phone calls.
